: جعل الواحد ضدَّ الآخر، جمع بين نوعين مختلفين، لم يلائم بينهما.

: غايَرَه، باينه، عكسه وافقه، كان ضِدَّه ولم يُوافقه

🇬🇧 Translation: : Differed from it, varied from it, opposite of agreed with it, was against it and did not agree with it

: عارضتها ولم توافقها - خالف ضميره : لم يُسايره فيما يُمليه عليه.

🇬🇧 Translation: : Opposed it and did not agree with it - Went against his conscience: did not go along with what it dictated to him.
