: جج أخشاب وخُشْبَان وخُشُب وخُشْب، مف خَشَبَة : ما صلُب من جذع الشَّجرة وفروعها

🇬🇧 Translation: : Plural akhshAb and khushbAn and khushub and khushb; singular khashabah: the hard part of the tree trunk and its branches (wood)

: عظامه الغليظة - خشبة الجزّار : طاولة من خشب سميك يقطّع عليها الجزّار اللَّحمَ - خشبة الحائك : نوله الذي يَنْسِج عليه - خشبة المَسْرح : المنصّة التي يؤدِّي فوقها الممثلون أدوارهم - خشبة الميِّت : الصندوق الذي تُوضع فيه جثّتُه - خشبة النَّجاة : الوسيلة الأخيرة للتخلّص من خطر - خشب رقائقيّ : مادَّة بناء تُصنع من رقائق من الخشب وتلصق معًا.

🇬🇧 Translation: : His thick bones - Butcher's block: a table of thick wood on which the butcher cuts meat - Weaver's beam: his loom on which he weaves - Stage boards: the platform on which actors perform their roles (stage) - Wood of the dead: the box in which his corpse is placed (coffin) - Plank of salvation: the last means to escape danger - Plywood: a building material made of thin layers of wood glued together.

الخَشَب الأبيض

: (نت) نوع من الأشجار كشجر الخُزامي والزَّيزفون الأمريكيّ والحَسور القطنيّ.

🇬🇧 Translation: : (Bot) A type of tree such as the tulip tree, American linden, and cottonwood (whitewood).

الحَفْر على الخَشَب

: (فن) عمليّة إنتاج أغراض تزينيّة من الخشب عن طريق الحفر بآلة حادّة.

🇬🇧 Translation: : (Art) The process of producing decorative objects from wood by carving it with a sharp tool (woodcarving).

خشب متحجِّر

: (جو) خشب دُفن تحت الرمل فحلّت مادة السيليكا كلّ خلايا الخشب، فأصبح مُتحجِّرًا.

🇬🇧 Translation: : (Geol) Wood buried under sand where silica has replaced all the wood cells, becoming petrified (petrified wood).

سوسة الخشب

: (حن) من يرقانات الحشرات التي تحفر في الأثاث الخشبيّ والعوارض الخشبيّة خاصّة يرقانات خُنفسة الأثاث وخُنفسة الموت.

🇬🇧 Translation: : (Zool) One of the insect larvae that burrow into wooden furniture and wooden beams, especially the larvae of the furniture beetle and the deathwatch beetle (woodworm).
